Lake Forest Elementary School Visit and Activities, Felton, Delaware

Hiba visited Fourth and Fifth graders at Lake Forest Elementary in Felton, DE. She read her book, practiced yoga and mindfulness with the students, and then ended the sessions with Q & A about the yoga and mindfulness practices and how they can help raise our awareness, self-regulate our emotions, and improve our socio-emotional learning skills and focus. A lot of discussions were also around the process of book making, writing, illustrating, editing and publishing, and how there is an author and artist in each of us. We just have to do the work and persevere. Shown in the images is Hiba with the students and with Fifth grade teacher Mrs. Heather Moore who facilitated the event sessions.
